Tota Hasegawa conceived the idea and commissioned Rakugo storyteller Shinosuke Tachikawa to create a Rakugo performance under the title of ‘Ready-made,’ as a contemporary interpretation of Japanese traditional storytelling. As requested of its scenography, the traditional lanterns accompanying the theatre set were replaced by a pair of ‘ready-made’ lanterns made of white balloons, found chairs and table legs just stuck on each other, in a composition imitating a lantern which will not be kept in position in case of the earthquake.
